About

Dr. Bandana Sharma completed her Pre Degree and Under Graduation in Statistics from
Cotton College. After graduation, she joined the University of Delhi (D.U.) to pursue Master
Degree in Statistics. She is an alumnus of Hindu College. She is also an M. Phil degree
holder from Delhi University. The topic of her M. Phil dissertation was ‘Serially Balanced
Sequences: A Review’. She joined the Department of Statistics, Cotton College as a Lecturer in
the year 1993. She was a Recipient of Doctoral Fellowship under the Plan Scheme ‘Awards
and Fellowships for Outstanding and Meritorious Research work in Statistics’ for a period of
two years to carry out her research works leading to her Ph.D. She was awarded Ph. D degree
by Gauhati University in the year 2008 on the research topic ‘Cancer as a model for
Accelerated Life: Probabilistic and Statistical Analysis’. Her areas of research interests
include Design of Experiment, Applied Statistics, Stochastic Process, Biostatistics, Operation
Research, Time Series, and Econometrics.

She is a Research Guide of Cotton University. She is the Principal Investigator of in-house
the research project ‘A study on the effect of living arrangements on the health of Elderly people in
B.T.A.D, Assam’. At present, there are two Research Scholars under her who are pursuing
their research works. She has a vast experience of guiding Under Graduate students of
Department of Statistics for their research projects. She has altogether eight research
publications. Over the years, she has attended and presented research papers in more than
forty National and International Conferences.
